In 1973 a German news publication called Der Spiegel published this incredible image of a supposed Close Encounter of the Third Kind, as a German Military official actually met and shook hands with an alleged extraterrestrial.
There is no actual date linked to this event, other than the publication year which was 1973, so it is likely the photo was actually taken before that year, with a period during the Second World War being most likely.
There are some websites that claim that this image was also taken during the Roswell UFO incident. This unusual photograph, along with similar accounts, has since been referenced in various UFO reports and stored in more than one UFO archive, with coverage continuing on at least one dedicated ufology website.
