Maussan’s first experience occurred in 1991, when he claimed to have heard the Virgin in the Basilica of Guadalupe angrily ask him, “What do you want from me?”

The journalist held a surprising perspective about this. Instead of a spiritual experience, Maussan labeled it as a phenomenon related to extraterrestrial intelligence. For him, the Old Testament is but a story of a being from another galaxy, someone who came to the planet to save humanity from destruction.

Sierra de La Rumorosa

Years later, his next encounter happened one night when he went with three young mountaineers in the rocky desert of Sierra de La Rumorosa.

The context of this exploration was that the three individuals claimed they had gotten lost in the area and had seen some phosphorescent beings years earlier. Intrigued, Maussan accompanied them back to the mountains, wanting to see these beings himself.

His wish was granted at 2 AM, when his team woke him up and took him to a ravine where the beings were. He described what he saw as eyes that shone very brightly, looking as if they were conversing with each other before completely vanishing.

Before his breakthrough involvement in UFO research in 2017, Maussan had already made a name for himself within the UFO community.

He once guested on Nino Canún’s ¿Y usted que opina?, where he spent 11 hours debating about Martians in 1991. This was what started his association with aliens and the extraterrestrials, as the day after the show, he claimed he was immediately showered with invitations to give lectures around the world.

This also earned him a TV show on Televisa titled Tercer Milenio (Third Millennium), in which the journalist discusses fascinating aspects of human history and the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

The Metepec Creature

In May 2007, a “small alien-like creature” was caught in a rat trap at a ranch in Metepec, Mexico. Urso Ruiz, the ranch’s owner, claimed it had been digging a hole in his backyard before he caught and killed it. He later sold the creature to Jaime Maussan, who claimed it had been studied in five labs from around the world, with findings confirming it had extraterrestrial origins.

To add mystery to the whole event, the ranch’s owner allegedly died in a car fire, which people were quick to believe was caused by the UFOs seeking revenge.

However, Channel 4’s Alien Investigations claimed that the whole thing was a hoax and the creature was later identified as a skinned monkey.

Demon Fairy

In 2016, years after the Metepec issue, Jaime Maussan got involved in another case where he was accused of combining animal and human bones to construct something he could claim as a hybrid, extraterrestrial being. Maussan labeled the creature as “Demon Fairy.”

I believe they are experiments, what kind of experiments? I don’t know, but we have a physical body that we can analyze and prove that an intelligence is behind this.

These were the words of Maussan when interviewed about the creature in his possession. Although he had already been questioned about it, he still believed it to be of extraterrestrial origin.

The Nazca Mummies

In 2016, a rare discovery shocked the whole world. Between Nazca and Palpa in Peru, a tomb raider claimed he discovered a group of mummified bodies with surprising characteristics: three fingers and elongated heads. The man contacted Thierry Jamin, the Director of the Institute of Inkarri, a research organization of Peruvian heritage, who believed the discovery was a breakthrough and uploaded the affair online.

A month later, Jaime Maussan saw the videos. At first, he was hesitant, but a year later, a call changed his mind and sparked his involvement in this remarkable UFO research.

In the interview, he expressed, “I didn’t pay attention because I thought they were fakes. It was a hoax. I don’t feel right when someone wants to be anonymous. But in March 2017, a biologist called me and said, ‘Have you talked to Thierry Jamin? He’s a French archaeologist living in Cusco.’ I thought this man had my credibility, and I said, ‘I have to go to Peru.’”

The Investigations

By 2017, Maussan, alongside other professionals, flew to Peru to see the bodies themselves and find out what they truly were. The group consisted of:

• Konstantin Korotkov, a Russian scientist
• Jose de la Cruz Rios Lopez, a Mexican biologist
• Jay Weidner, the former senior director of content at Gaia
• Dr. Edson Salazar Vivanco, a Peruvian surgeon
• Dr. Jose de Jesus Zalce Benitez, a Mexican forensic expert

The entire investigation into the Peruvian mummies was fruitful, as the group was able to examine eight bodies, which they concluded were of alien origin.

First Bodies: Josefine and Alberto

The group moved the first two bodies, which they named Josefina and Alberto, to a clinic to perform X-rays and CT scans and determine their bone structures.

This is a very important image, as it allows us to observe the bones, the skull with its bone consistency, but also the metal within its chest. This piece of metal won’t allow us to see the bone underneath, as it’s embedded in the object’s chest. It blocks the view from the bones behind. When we reach the pelvic cavity, we see three structures with an oval shape. These structures do allow rays to penetrate and show the bone structure behind them.

Their anatomical constructions differed significantly from those of humans, particularly in their lack of joints, unique skull structures, distinct mouths, and ears.

Second Body: Maria

After the initial investigation, the tomb raider gradually showed the group the other bodies. The next one was another mummified body in a fetal position, which they named Maria. Dr. Edson Salazar Vivanco described it as:

A body of anthropomorphic structure. It has a head, neck, thoracic cage, pelvis, and upper and lower limbs. Specifically, in the head, we notice a well-articulated jawbone. It has no oracles but auditory canals on both sides.

Samples from Maria were then sent to the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, where the analysis dated the body to approximately 1770 years old.

Third Bodies: Victoria and Wawita

The team was then presented with a headless body, approximately 60cm in length, which they named Victoria, and a baby, Wawita, with the same characteristics and position as Maria. Victoria’s DNA was tested in Russia and Mexico, where both laboratories found that she didn’t match any known DNA from humans, animals, plants, or bacteria.

Fourth Bodies: The Family

Lastly, the team was shown three more bodies labeled as “The Family,” with similar characteristics to the others.

Throughout these investigations, Jaime Maussan was prepared to present their discoveries and findings to the public, regardless of potential rejection.

I think the world is going to reject this. At the very first moment, it’s going to say ‘No, this is not possible.’ The good thing is, we’re going to have tests. We’re going to have the images, the CT scans, the tomographies, and the X-rays. Everything’s going to be there. The honest scientists will want to take a look because the testing is going to be from many places, that there’s not going to be options. When the big names and the big scientists get involved and they declare this is real, then everybody’s going to change history.

The Mexican Congress Presentation

This was Maussan’s motivation for presenting the affair to the Mexican Congress, and in 2023, his face appeared in international newspapers as a result. He brought two of the mummies while the group presented their examinations and findings.

I think there is a clear demonstration that we’re dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to other species in the world, and that all possibilities are open for scientific institutions to investigate it.

The US Drones

In the interview with El País, Jaime Maussan talked about the drones that have flown in New Jersey and the eastern US, and had stirred paranoia last year. With the US government’s absence of a clear and honest explanation, Maussan believed that the objects weren’t drones but intelligent life forms.

We’ve been so brainwashed that when we talk about this, people look at you as if you’ve gone mad. Acknowledging UFOs would mean a paradigm shift. Can you imagine if, in 1947, when the spaceship was found in Roswell, they had honestly said that an extraterrestrial ship had crashed on Earth? The world would be different.

The Buga Sphere

On March 2, 2025, a metallic sphere was filmed flying over Buga. Two videos circulated online about it. The first was from Maria, a 24-year-old woman, and the second was from Mr. Jose, who was simply looking for scraps with an electromagnetic machine when he found it.

Mr. Jose took the ball to David Velez el Potro, a businessman in Cali, Colombia, who published videos about it, catching the public’s attention. However, when people urged David to investigate the sphere, he found himself at a loss for what to do, and that’s when Maussan stepped in.

The Investigations

Jaime Maussan immediately jumped into testing the sphere to determine its origins and what it truly was. These were his findings:

• The sphere was made up of two hemispheres, but nothing joins them.
• It’s made of aluminum and silicium.
• It had something inside, which they think creates the electromagnetic energy that allows the sphere to fly.
• Inside it were fiber optics of all sizes, which they concluded must be what the sphere uses to see everything around it.
• It’s a large sensor that can detect ultraviolet, infrared, and even human cells.
• It’s made using an ancient technique that dates back 5,000 years: Arena Humeda.
• Regarding the question of why this technique was used, Maussan believed it was because it was the safest method and that whoever created it didn’t want to harm the Earth.

Maussan believed that the sphere is what the intelligences are using to gain information about humanity. He connected this incident to the Arecibo Message from 1974, in which humankind attempted to initiate communication with extraterrestrials, emphasizing that the antenna in the image before was similar to the ones depicted in the sphere.

What we have found inside the sphere is out of the mind. It’s really high technology, and the important thing is this object, for the first time, is in the hands of civilians. Normally, this kind of thing ends up in the hands of the government, but this time, it’s with us, and we have the chance to investigate.
