The Las Vegas backyard incident is among cases with a lot of potential but little evidence, which is definitely a waste, given that it happened only recently. While videos were taken, none were compelling enough to reach a clear conclusion.

On a broader scale, this incident covers two separate (but allegedly connected) events:

• The alleged meteor event caught by an officer’s bodycam
• The “8 to 10 feet tall” creature sighting involving then-16-year-old Angel Kenmore and his family in their backyard

The Meteor Event

At 11:50 PM that day, a Las Vegas Metro police officer’s bodycam caught a bright green streak of light descending from the sky. Several cameras captured the same light racing across the sky, with some even recording what seemed like a loud bang once it was out of sight.

Around that time, the American Meteor Society also received 13 reports of a meteor event.

The event was initially reported as a natural meteor shower until footage from one of the cameras was released. It was captured by a thermal camera and showed a silhouette of an airplane, but didn’t capture the alleged meteor.

This sparked the running theory that the light couldn’t have been a meteorite but a crashed UFO. It also coincided with an old investigation under Project Grudge called Project Twinkle, during which “green fireballs” were observed across Northern New Mexico.

Hence, this naturally became a good alternative explanation for the event, especially given the 911 call that followed.

The Kenmore Backyard Sighting

Angel Kenmore was fixing his truck in their backyard with his brother when the light passed by their house. He only caught a glimpse of the light before feeling the impact and hearing a bang.

The impact made him disoriented; he couldn’t focus his sight. The only thing he remembered from that moment was hearing “thousands of footsteps” around him. A couple of seconds later, his sight cleared, and there, he saw the creature.

• It was 8–10 feet tall.
• It was skinny and grayish-green.
• It had weird-looking feet.
• It also had a big face with a big mouth.

Kenmore also added that he could hear this creature’s deep breathing and see its stomach moving. While looking at its eyes, the teenager recalled being unable to move. He only regained his movement minutes later, and that’s when he called his father, who also saw the creature.

They immediately rushed back inside the house, where Angel Kenmore called 911. Here’s a transcript of his call:

Angel: There’s like an 8-foot person beside it [the forklift] and another one inside. And it has big eyes, and it’s looking at us, and it’s still there.

Dispatcher: Where is this on your property?

Angel: In my backyard. I swear to God, this is not a joke. This is actually weird. We’re terrified of it.

Dispatcher: Okay, so there are two people or two subjects that are in your backyard?

Angel: Correct, and they’re very large. They’re like 8-foot… 9 feet… 10. I don’t know. They look like aliens to us. They have big eyes. I can’t explain it, and big mouth. They’re not humans. 100% they’re not humans.

While waiting for responders, Kenmore claimed he could still hear footsteps and some incoherent whispers in the backyard. When a Las Vegas police officer arrived, they conversed about what happened, and he also told them what his partner had seen earlier that night.

Officer: What did you see?

Angel: It was like… It was like a big creature.

Officer: A big creature?

Angel: Yeah, like around 10 feet tall.

Officer: I’m not gonna BS you guys, one of my partners said they saw something fall from the sky, too. That’s why I’m kind of curious. Did you see anything land in your backyard?

Mr. Kenmore: They see like a big something [waving his hands into a circle] with lights.

The Aftermath of the Incident

Once the Las Vegas backyard incident hit the mainstream media, the Kenmores’ house immediately drew unwanted attention. People were constantly trespassing on their property to the point that they were warned to stay away or risk injury.

Doug Poppa, an ex-cop who interviewed the family, also claimed that during his second visit, he noticed a camera that wasn’t there before had been set up. When asked, the family said the LVMPD Homeland Security department installed it to protect them from trespassers.

The mother told me they came out there and put up the cameras … but I can tell you right now, cops don’t come out and put up expensive video equipment like that. They certainly wouldn’t for someone calling in a report about a UFO.

This matter received a contrasting response from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Its media spokesman initially told The Post that they don’t have a “homeland security” until it was pointed out that the LVMPD website listed the department.

In a separate interview, Sheriff Kevin McMahill affirmed the matter, saying,

Metro put cameras there because we’re trying to protect the house from individuals who were coming by. I heard stories of, you know, blacked-out sedans.

How Was the Las Vegas Backyard Incident Investigated?

The Kenmores’ backyard video was the evidence that needed to be closely examined. The key investigator who handled this was Scott Roder, a veteran crime scene reconstruction analyst.

Scott Roder, Video Analysis

He broke the video down frame by frame to confirm whether it had been edited and, using the same principles he would in a homicide investigation, concluded that the video was authentic.

These entities are real. They’re there. This is not fake. This is not fraud. These two beings are in the real-world environment with the Kenmore family. That’s a fact.

Roder also used motion-tracking software and attached it to a shadowy figure in the video. The result showed movement of a whole being, not to be mistaken with an object.

The motion of that head from right to left is consistent with the motion that we see between the slats of the fence.

Roder also claimed that these beings might have been wearing a cloaking device to hide them. He believed that these creatures’ landing was unexpected because their ship (in this case, the streak of light) broke down.

I think there are five of them that are clearly there, but then there are up to dozens of other ones that could be there one moment and then go away. I blame that on the cloaking technology they’re most obviously implementing that might be glitching. That’s why we caught them on film in the first place.

James Fox, Police Contact

Another expert who looked into the Las Vegas backyard incident was UFO documentary filmmaker James Fox.

He posted on his Twitter account that a Las Vegas police officer reached out to him and told him about an FBI cover-up. This officer also claimed that bodycams were scrubbed.

Fox quotes the officer’s message:

I am a police officer in Las Vegas, and the incident that happened is very bizarre … I can’t confirm if it’s rumors or not, but apparently, the next day, there were tons of black SUVs around the house and government officials. I’ve seen all the videos, and it’s real. Something that should definitely get more attention and follow-up.

However, this officer would later reach back to Fox, claiming that Angel Kenmore was lying. By then, James Fox also leaned to believe that the Las Vegas backyard incident was a hoax.

How Did the Public React to the Las Vegas Backyard Incident?

The incident gained substantial attention from the netizens, especially on Reddit.

Until recently, people were still discussing the events and examining the video, but no unanimous conclusion has yet been reached.
